LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton, known collectively as Alex & Sierra, won “The X Factor” on Thursday night, but the rising stars are open to taking a break from their music career to help out dad-to-be Simon Cowell.
“She actually was saying like three days ago, she’s like, ‘Oh my God, I don’t care really what happens with the competition as long as I get to babysit for Simon,’” Alex told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on the red carpet after their win last night.
“Done,” Simon chimed in, accepting their offer for free child care.
Babysitting talk aside, Simon is proud of the duo he coached and he expects them to go far and sell many, many records.
“100 percent. That’s why I wanted them to win. Because I wanted a winner of this show to sell records. And it’s harder and harder to do that,” Simon told Laura. “I think the last breakout artist on an American talent show was probably Carrie Underwood, who won the show. So it’s harder and harder.”
Sierra admitted Simon’s predictions are intimidating, but they want to live up to his hype.
“Yeah, it’s scary, but I think we’re up for the challenge,” she said.
“We’re excited about what we think we can do,” Alex added.
