Actress Vidya Balan was rushed to Hinduja hospital in Mumbai and admitted for suspected kidney stones yesterday (December 29) evening. The actress and her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur were on their way to a foreign locale to ring in the New Year when sudden pain experienced by Vidya forced the couple to change their plans.
Says a source, “It is Vidya’s birthday on 1st January and the couple had big plans to celebrate both birthday and New Year. The couple had already boarded a connecting flight from Abu Dhabi to their destination and while the aircraft was gearing for take off, Vidya experienced shooting pain in her back. So severe was the pain that paramedics were called onboard and they were deplaned. Vidya was later taken to a clinic at the airport for examination where the actress received adequate treatment.”
The couple took the next available flight back to Mumbai and upon return hubby Siddharth rushed Vidya to Hinduja hospital. Test conducted at the hospital indicated possible kidney stones as the cause behind Vidya’s pain.
We tried reaching Siddharth but he remained unavailable for comment. Confirming the news, Vidya’s spokesperson said, “Vidya is currently in expert hands at Hinduja hospital and is well on her way to recovery.”
