NBC to revive 'Heroes' as a 13-episode miniseries in 2015


Creator Tim Kring to take lead with the show productions.

In news that will please the many fans of the now discontinued TV series 'Heroes', NBC will be reintroducing the superhero drama as a miniseries.

Set to be aired in 2015, the series now dubbed as 'Heroes: Reborn” will be led by its creator Tim Kring. And while details about the story line, characters and casts is yet to be divulged, it also remains to be seen, how many of the beloved star cast from the original series will be retained.

Network officials have been quoted saying, “We won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in”.




The original show, arising out of the super hero genre, told the intertwining stories of everyday individuals who discover they have super powers. It gained immense popularity following an impactful season one starring the likes of Zachary Quinto, Hayden Panettiere, Jack Colman, Ali Larter, Milo Ventigmiglia and Greg Grunberg. And even though the following seasons failed to captivate audiences imaginations, the show continued to remain blended into then pop culture. So much that loyal fans even put out petitions, such as this one on Change.org, urging the networks to revive the series that had been abruptly pulled off air.

NBC announced it on the Twitter platform as well, and the hash tag #HeroesReborn has been trending since, with excited fans from across the world sharing the teaser trailer:
